  • Celebrate New Year's Eve 2024 with The Avett Brothers

[ relix ] The Avett Brothers have officially unveiled their plans for a 2024 New Year’s Eve Celebration. In keeping with annual tradition, the trailblazing Americana outfit and their fans will return to their home state of North Carolina for a single-night bash, this time welcoming throwback country sister act The Castellows for support. The Avett Brothers’ 2024 sendoff will be staged at Charlotte, N.C.’s Bojangles Coliseum. Beyond general admission access, the event will offer a range of VIP packages, which offer everything from hotel stays, early entrance and exclusive merchandise to access to the Perfect Space Lounge, which boasts chef-curated dinner and a photo opportunity with “The Avetts,” the Seth Monster, Scott Monster and Bob Monster muppets seen onstage throughout the band’s recent tour. 2024 has been a year well worth celebrating for The Avett Brothers. In May, the folk-rock outfit returned with a glistening new self-titled studio album, its first full-length offering since 2019’s Closer Together. Produced by regular collaborator Rick Rubin, the band’s latest is at once a hard reboot and a studied, attentive return to its roots, determined to turn up the sacred from the minute and meager and whole-heartedly embrace the incomprehensible. Through the summer, the ensemble took the nine-track cycle to the road for a thrilling North American tour, which recently brought them to the stage for the Marcus King Band Family Reunion. King, a longtime peer to the two-decade Avett outfit, was the band’s special guest at its 2023 New Year’s Eve event. Before this year’s return, the band will round through 17 further tour dates across the country; track The Avett Brothers’ ongoing run and get tickets here . An Avett Guild presale for the band’s 2024 New Year’s Eve engagement will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 12 p.m. ET. General onsale will follow on Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. ET. • Carlene Carter Joins Lineup for Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song

Just over a week out from its Sept. 17 staging at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre, the Carter Center has announced a massive lineup expansion for Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song. Today’s additions amplify an already stacked roster of performers set to turn out for the former president’s centenary, bringing the bill to a total of 15 musical acts and three special guest hosts. New entries to the program include Carlene Carter , among others. “I couldn’t be more delighted to have been asked to take part in this event honoring President Carter,” country icon Carter offers in a release. “When my mother, June Carter, and her husband, Johnny Cash, went to visit him at the White House, I was pretty jealous, as I thought so highly of him even back then. Both he and June had suggested more than once that we were, in fact, kin, and the fact that both he and mom had that Carter ‘sparkle’ makes me think that they were related. When Jimmy Carter was our president, it was evident to me that he only wanted the best for our country and for all humankind. I look at him as a very special, spiritual soul, so when people ask if we’re related, I always respond, ‘I hope so.’"   Tickets for Jimmy Carter 100 are available now; proceeds will go to support the Carter Center, which aims to further to former president’s commitment to progress by promoting peace and supporting the health of people around the world.
