BELLA RAYNE
BIOGRAPHY
18 year old Bella Rayne is a self-taught guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, born
in the mountains of North Carolina and raised in coastal Mendocino, California,
whose bold blend of jam band energy, Southern-tinged rock, ’90s grunge grit,
and psychedelic spirit is rapidly capturing attention across the U.S.
Her journey began during the pandemic, when boredom led her to resurrect an
old Stratocaster she found in her garage. She fixed it up, learned to play by ear,
and quickly found her voice — melding influences from rock, Americana,
bluegrass, and the jam-band legacy into something deeply her own.
Despite her young age, Bella has already shared the stage with seasoned artists
and respected bands: appearances alongside Allman Betts Family Revival,
Melvin Seals & JGB, ALO, Jackie Greene, Oteil Burbridge, and members of
Terrapin Family have all added to her early résumé and she was touted as “one
to watch” by her idol, Susan Tedeschi. In addition, she has been invited to iconic
stages nationwide including The Fillmore SF, The Orpheum LA, Sweetwater
Music Hall, The Hamilton, and even celebrated her 18th birthday with a set on
the Prudential stage at Bottlerock Napa festival.
One of the most iconic moments of her rising career: she was entrusted to play
the legendary guitar known as “Alligator” — once wielded by Jerry Garcia. That
honor, courtesy of Grateful Guitars Foundation, has become a defining chapter
in Bella’s journey and Guitar Player magazine recently recognized her as one of
the players “keeping the Dead alive” alongside Jeff Mason (Dark Star Orchestra)
and Tom Hamilton (JRAD) in an article from May 2025.
Bella has since formed her own project, Bella Rayne Band — a high-energy,
guitar-driven ensemble featuring a young lineup of seasoned musicians that is
filling rooms and venues across the country. Their sets are a blend of soulful
Southern-rock and Grateful Dead reinterpretations plus Bella’s own originals,
earning increasing demand across venues nationwide. They have been
described as the next generation Tedeschi Trucks Band with an alternative edge
and a 70s vibe. The band just finished recording singles for an upcoming EP
slated to be released in 2026. With a sound uniquely her own, a growing national
presence, and a commitment to inspiring the next generation, Bella Rayne is
positioning herself not just as a rising guitarist — but as a genuine force in the
modern jam-rock and Americana scene.
