California roots outfit The Brothers Comatose continue their mission of bringing high-energy acoustic music and good times to audiences with their new single, “High Hoping.” Blending bluegrass, country, folk, Americana, and rock, the band describes its distinctive sound as “GOLDENGRASS.”
Brothers Ben and Alex Morrison remain at the heart of the group, combining vivid Americana songwriting with tight sibling harmonies. Addie Levy expands the band's sound with Appalachian-inspired vocals and mandolin, while Philip Brezina’s fiery fiddle playing and Steve Height’s upright bass create an energetic musical foundation.
Ben Morrison explains how the track came together:
“We wrote this song with our good friend Melody Walker – Grammy award-winning songwriter who collaborated with Sierra Ferrell on ‘American Dreamin.’ We all sat around in Addie’s living room in Nashville, TN, and got to work on this tune. We decided we wanted a more message-driven, uplifting tune, and a few hours later, we emerged with ‘High Hoping.’ It’s the first time we’ve done such a large collaboration on a song, and we’re stoked on the way it came together.”
